Update from the BBS Board – May 15, 2014

Hi there, fellow blues lovers! Here is an update from the Boise Blues Society Board of Directors.

We have two great shows coming up, featuring performers that Boise audiences have loved – put them on your calendar as you won’t want to miss these great acts!

Our BBS Sunday Blues event will be July 20, noon to 5pm at Julia Davis park. To headline, we’re excited to bring back Hamilton Loomis, who delivered a rousing performance to a standing-room-only crowd earlier this year at Jo’s Sunshine Lounge. Watch our website for more details.

On the evening of August 7, Matthew Curry returns to the Sapphire Room, where he wowed the crowd. Fans lined up after his high-energy show to meet him and get autographs. See details here.

If you’re a FaceBook user, note that BBS will be shutting down our FaceBook group and moving our activity to an organizational page. Please LIKE our new FaceBook page to keep up with what’s happening with blues music in the Treasure Valley! You are all still welcome to post your blues-related events, videos, and comments at the new page; we plan to continue growing and supporting our regional community of blues music lovers.

Don’t forget our next Blues Jam Session on Sunday, June 8, at The Drink Waterfront Bar & Grill (3000 North Lakeharbor Lane) from 3-6pm. Signups start at 2:30, the event is free, and all ages are welcome. Come out and dance, cheer, and play blues with other musicians.

Here is a clip from the recent jam on Mother’s Day:

Once again, thanks you for your support and enthusiasm as we spread the knowledge and appreciation of blues music through the Treasure Valley. See you at a live blues show soon.
