We’ve added a number of new media sites recently, and are busy uploading to them the latest live music media and other information from our organization. Many of these sites are brand new for us,  yet you’ll find new posts and uploads coming to each daily. We invite you to join, like, comment and contribute to any and all of these social media that speak to you. Brief descriptions are included below to give you an idea what you will find everywhere. You may want to save this list as your own guide to all things BBS. Note to BBS Member bands: If you would like to see your music audio or video on some of these sites, talk to us about how to get us your media. The Blues Directors LIve at KRBX RadioThon


DonationThe Boise Blues Society’s own Blues Directors band, made up mostly of members of the board-of-directors, appeared live on Radio Boise KRBX 89.9FM on Monday, October 26, 2015, in support of the station’s fall fundraising campaign at

The band played for more than a solid hour of blues on Mojo Mike’s Blues Review show, rocking the studio with a full 9-member band. The stellar lineup for the special occasion consisted of: Barbara Laing-guitar/vocal, Evelyn Hadden-vocal/percussion, Carmel Crock-vocal/percussion, Dave Light-harmonica/vocal, JT Tyler-vocal, Mojo Mike Witmer-bass, Barney Southard-drums/vocal (member of Boise’s Hoochie Coochie Men), Ken Harris-keyboards/vocal/bandleader, and Alan Braga-guitar (member of Boise’s BBS-member band, The Blues Addicts). It was a fun evening at the KRBX studios, with both the Blues Directors and another BBS member band, The Blues Addicts, performing full on-air sets. Watch for our video coverage of The Blues Addicts show here as well. The Boise Blues Society is happy to support RadioBoise, our independent community radio station. On this evening, donations totaled a record $2,200 during the 5-hour Blues Block on KRBX (Juke Joint with Norman Davis and Blues Review with Mojo Mike Witmer). Give a listen to the Blues Block every Monday evening on KRBX (5-10pm), and please support Community Radio at however you can.

A reminder that Two Boise Blues Society bands will play live TONIGHT, MONDAY OCT 26, on Radio Boise KRBX, as part of the Monday Blues Block programming for community radio’s fundraising campaign. The Blues Addicts get it all rolling from 6-7pm on the Juke Joint show with Norman Davis. The BBS Blues Directors band finished the evening from 8:30-9:30pm on Mojo Mike’s Blues Revue program. Folks in the Boise area may listen locally at 89.9FM or 93.5FM downtown. Live Blues Calendar For Oct-Nov 2015

Here’s our live blues schedule for late October through early December in the Boise area. Hope to see you out supporting and enjoying the local blues scene soon!


Friday October 23, Ken Harris and Rico Weisman at Berryhill Restaurant, 6-10pm.

Saturday October 24, Ken Harris and Carmel Crock play Kind Cuisine Cafe, on State Street near bowling alley, 7-9pm.

Monday October 26, The Blues Directors (BBS Board band) will be playing Mojo Mike’s Blues Revue on Radio Boise (KRBX, 89.9 and 93.5 FM) at 7:30pm as part of the fall radiothon.

Saturday October 31, The Blind Mice are playing O’Michaels from 9pm – midnight.  (This event may be moved to October 30, depending on the Broncos game.)

Saturdays October 31 and November 28 (and the last Saturday of every month) the Zack Quintana Band plays blues, classic rock and rock at The Curb in Meridian. Also, the ZQ Band will be playing with Smooth Avenue at the Sapphire Room, November 13.

Every Wednesday, The Blind Mice host an open jam at Tom Grainey’s from 8pm – ? Drums and amps provided; bring your axe and play blues, rock, and more with other musicians.

Wednesday November 4, Ken Harris and Carmel Crock play Sofia’s Greek Bistro, Glenwood and State between Big 5 and Rue 21, Garden City, 6-9pm

Thursday November 5, Random AcX presents Lori B! and The Ticklers, Tracy Underwood, Jake Blues & The Rock ‘n Soul Revue, and Rex & Beverly at the Sapphire Room at

Friday November 6, Ken Harris plays at District Coffee House, 10th and Bannock in downtown Boise, 7:30-9:30pm.

Sundays November 8 and December 13, the Boise Blues Society hosts an open Blues Jam Session from 3-6pm at The Drink Waterfront Bar & Grill. This blues-only jam happens every second Sunday of the month. Musicians are invited to bring an instrument and join us on stage. Blues lovers, come and catch local musicians while savoring food, drinks, a great view, and a community atmosphere.

Tuesday November 10, The Danielle Nicole Band plays The Reef at 9:30pm. Danielle (Nicole) Schneblen was bass player and singer for Trampled Under Foot, the winners of the 2009 International Blues Challenge.
