What a fantastic show Terry Hanck and his band put on at Playhouse Boise the other night! Here’s the opening track viewed from the dance floor, in part as the camera guy (me) tries to keep up with him through the audience. A truly great entertainer and fantastic sax player and soul-blues singer! And a heck of a nice guy to boot. What a band!
Don’t miss this award-winning blues saxman!
Elvin Bishop’s “favorite saxman” is sure to dazzle you with his skills honed over more than 4 decades of show-stopping performances. And his hot band will have you up and dancing on the Playhouse’s large dance floor. Full bar available.
Buy Tickets Here! Just $15 in advance. $20 at the door (if available). Showtime is 7-9pm.
Terry Hanck proves that sax and soul are still all the rage. He won the 2016 Blues Music Award for Best Horn. In 2014 he won the International Songwriting Competition in the Blues Category and in 2012 swept both the Blues Music Awards and the Living Blues Award for Best Horn. He was in the great Elvin Bishop band for ten years, and has fronted his own band for 28 years.
This will be a great show for all blues lovers, and one that you don’t want to miss!
Boise Blues Society celebrates 25 years of bringing the blues to Boise and Treasure Valley with the release of a new CD compilation, “Blues Gems from the Gem State”. The album features 18 tracks, one each by a different Treasure Valley blues band or artist. It’s produced by BBS co-founder and KRBX Radio Boise Juke Joint host Norman Davis.
All the artists donated their music to the fundraising project. Proceeds from the album go to support the non-profit work of Boise Blues Society, including its popular Blues in the Schools program, which is offered free-of-charge to area schools to promote and educate about the blues, and youth scholarship program which offers financial support for young musicians to further their music education.
