Get Your Festival Early Bird Tickets Now Through April 30

Special Early Bird Tickets to this year’s fabulous Silver Anniversary Boise Blues Festival are now on sale online only through April 30. Price will go up after that. Buy now and save!

Just $20, no added fees.  We think this is an excellent value for a day of entertainment by far and away our best festival lineup ever! Our focus is on a 25th year reunion, featuring several artists who have successfully graced our recent events.

Headlining the festival will be Portland blues icon, Curtis Salgado, the man who inspired the original Blues Brothers. Another Portlander, fast rising Lisa Mann and her band, also returns to Treasure Valley after a pair of triumphant appearances. Both Lisa and Curtis sold out previous BBS shows at the Sapphire Room.

And speaking of sell-outs, Johnny Rawls has sold out a pair of shows in the past year at Playhouse Boise, earning an invite to the festival as well. He will again be backed by JT and Smooth Avenue. Leo “Bud” Welch is an 85-year-old Mississippi Delta bluesman billed as the last of the original Mississippi blues guitarists. The lineup is completed by popular Boise band, The Blues Addicts, accompanied by The Brass Tacks horns.

See our recent lineup announcement here for additional information about all these fine artists. And get your tickets now!

John Clifton Blues Band Return To Boise May 6 – Sapphire Room

Boise Blues Society is happy to welcome the John Clifton Blues Band back to Boise! This time to the beautiful Sapphire Room in the Riverside Hotel.

The band played last summer’s Blues & Bones Festival in Eagle and made lots of new fans in their first visit to Idaho. Clifton has headlined and performed at major Blues Festivals in the US and abroad, playing more than 150 dates a year. He has also toured and recorded with Big Bill Morganfield, Blues Hall of Fame member and son of Muddy Waters.

“John Clifton may not be a name that instantly leaps to mind like many of the West Coast blues scene harmonica players, but maybe it’s time it should be as he is right there with the best.” — Cascade Blues Association (Portland)

As a co-founder (with brother Bill Clifton) of Fresno’s The MoFo Party Band, John Clifton has solidified himself as one of Central California’s most in-demand Blues frontmen since he started in the late ’80s. His “from the gut” vocal and harmonica presence and high energy performances have captivated audiences worldwide. He also keeps things fresh and exciting by effortlessly infusing styles from West Coast to Chicago Blues, classic R&B and Soul, to some hard-driving vintage Rock’n’Roll.
