Boise Blues Society presents award-winning guitarist Nick Schnebelen and his hot blues band, one night only at the Riverside Hotel’s Sapphire Room, Tuesday, April 4, 7:30pm.
Nick Schnebelen has quickly built a reputation as a killer lead guitar player and impassioned vocalist. As founding member of the popular family band Trampled Under Foot, Nick has traveled the world playing clubs and festivals. and as fan favorites on the Legendary Blues Cruise.
“Echos of the blues like Freddie King, Buddy Guy…Nick Schnebelen’s world-class guitar playing leads the way.” –JS, Seattle PI
In 2008, Trampled Under Foot won the International Blues Competition and Nick won The Albert King Award for “Best Guitarist”. Today, Nick performs with his own band, as does his sister Danielle (Nicole Schnebelen), and brother Chris Schnebelen. The siblings still perform a few reunion shows as Trampled Under Foot.
Nick Schnebelen has blues in his blood. Nick and his siblings grew up with their parents who played music full time in the Kansas City blues scene. Their house often became a jam space for their parents Lisa Swedlund and Robert Schnebelen’s popular blues band, Little Eva & The Works.
Nick and Trampled Under Foot recorded two great blues releases with Tony Braunagel producing (Taj Mahal, Robert Cray): “Wrong Side of Blues” and “Badlands”. The latter debuted #1 on Billboard and won Best Contemporary Blues Album at the Blues Music Awards in 2014.
Blues Blast Magazine says about Nick’s own 2016 debut album, “Live in Kansas City” — “Nick Schnebelen Band is a kill ’em and ‘leave ’em group of musicians that leaves it all on the stage every time they perform, so we’re damn lucky that they’ve given us a live album as their initial effort.”
Sounds like we’re in for a great show at The Sapphire!
