TONIGHT! Great Blues Night Out! Tix Still Available!

UPDATE: Plenty of tickets available at the door, just $15 (no fees or tax). Doors open at 6:30pm, music 7:30-10.

Boise Blues Society presents fabulous blues guitarist Andy T and his band featuring established Chicago Blues style vocalist Alabama Mike. Playhouse Boise. This is going to be another terrific BBS show!

THE ANDY T BAND was the highlight of last year’s Boise Blues Festival with Andy’s state-of-the-art guitar chops leading the way, and has now joined with powerful vocalist Alabama Mike.

ANDY TALAMANTEZ – ANSON FUNDERBURGH

The Andy T Band also now includes long sought-after guitarist and producer Anson Funderburgh, who formed Anson and the Rockets in 1978 and has gone on to capture numerous Blues Music Awards. He played a rocking show in Boise last fall with Mark Hummel and others. If you’re a blues fan, you will definitely want to be at this show at the Playhouse. The large dance floor is sure to be hopping, as it was for the recent sold-out Johnny Rawls show!

The group’s new album, “Double Strike”, produced by Funderburgh, will be available pre-release at the show. It’s scheduled for full release in June.

ENTER ALABAMA MIKE

Upon Nick Nixon’s 2016 retirement, Andy T and the band enlisted “Alabama Mike” Benjamin as lead singer. Mike is a dynamic, energetic vocalist who strongly connects with his audience. The group has been extremely well received, a highlight being the 2016 King Biscuit Festival.

Alabama Mike is a true force on the microphone with his first rate, church house tenor. He delivers a sound that will remind you of a young BB King, Buddy Guy, Elmore James, and Little Johnny Taylor.

This pairing is a force to be reckoned with and will not disappoint. This is one of the best touring bands on the circuit and a collaboration that cannot be missed! The band recently completed a new album, produced by longtime friend and often time band member, Anson Funderburgh, who himself played a BBS show this past September.

” Alabama Mike is a true star, he’s one of my absolute favorites”. –Rick Estrin of “Rick Estrin and The Nightcats”

…Andy’s stinging guitar chops are fabulous…throughout their CD…They will rock your world.” –Robert K. Oermann/Music Row
“This band swings oh so soulfully! Traditional blues lovers listen up – your blues is here as fresh as ever.” — Jim Hynes, Elmore Magazine
