Those who were at our 2 sold out shows with Johnny Rawls will want to be at this show at Playhouse Boise, Monday May 22. Promises to be another blow-out, with world class blues guitarist Andy T and his excellent band, featuring new lead vocalist, the acclaimed Alabama Mike. If you saw the Andy T Band at the 2016 Boise Blues Festival, you already know what a great band they are! General admission just $15, no fees or tax added.
Have you heard yet that the fabulous Ben Rice is bringing his band here on June 9? Still in his late 20s, Ben (from Portland) is on his way to the top echelon of blues guitarists/vocalists. After standout performances at the 2015 Boise Blues Festival and 2016 Blues and Bones, and a sold-out show of his own in Fall of 2015, we’re excited to bring Ben back to Boise!!
Ben has been leaving huge impressions on audiences around the Northwest and winning awards for his vocals and guitar playing for the last seven years. In 2014 at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee he left the audience speechless with a raw emotional delivery of his version of “Key To The Highway.” His second consecutive trip to the International Blues Challenge he made the finals in the solo/duo category. Where he was awarded the St. Blues Guitarist award for best guitarist.
Ben Rice’s music is deeply rooted in traditional blues, yet at the same time fiercely original. His guitar playing earns labels like “fearless,” “inventive” and “powerful,” and he routinly brings audiences to their feet with his stunning and emotionally honest vocal delivery. Ben is as much at home fronting his electric band as he is captivating a crowd solo with nothing but his voice and his acoustic resonator guitar.
BEN WILL ALSO TEACH AN INTIMATE GUITAR WORKSHOP FOR 10 REGISTRANTS ON SATURDAY, JUNE 10, 1-3PM.
Ben did a successful workshop on a previous Boise visit. The cost is $25 separately, or package price including Friday night show and Saturday workshop is $35. The location will be a private residence in Eagle. Address and any other information will be sent to registrants well before the workshop. To participate, please register at ben-rice.eventbrite.com with your email by choosing the ticket option. For any questions, email us at email@example.com.

He has also toured and recorded with Big Bill Morganfield, Blues Hall of Fame member and son of Muddy Waters.
“John Clifton is right there with the best West Coast blues harmonica players.” — Cascade Blues Association (Portland)
As a co-founder (with brother Bill Clifton) of Fresno’s The MoFo Party Band, John Clifton has solidified himself as one of Central California’s most in-demand Blues frontmen since he started in the late ’80s. His “from the gut” vocal and harmonica presence and high energy performances have captivated audiences worldwide. He also keeps things fresh and exciting by effortlessly infusing styles from West Coast to Chicago Blues, classic R&B and Soul, to some hard-driving vintage Rock’n’Roll.
The dance floors will be open, as John’s classic rhythms and infectious enthusiasm are certain to have you moving, whether on our feet or in your seats. Come on out to this sure-to-satisfy Blues party at the Sapphire!
