Education

We are passionate about igniting the love of blues music in folks young and old!

We offer annual Scholarships to local young musicians and to school music programs.

Through our Blues in the Schools (BITS) program, we visit area schools to provide an introduction to the blues that is part demonstration (with some theory and history thrown in) and part jam session.

But we don’t stop at educating the young-uns. We host workshops in which experienced musicians share their skills and help participants develop their own musical chops — like the recent 2-day blues harp workshop with Hamilton Loomis.

Got the skills and a yen to teach? Let us know. We’d love to help you pull a workshop together, or simply spread the word to our members and followers.
