If you saw the Andy T Band at the 2016 Boise Blues Festival, you already know what a great band they are! General admission just $15, no fees or tax added.
Studebaker John (Grimaldi) returns to Boise’s Sapphire Room after a 2 year absence on Tuesday, November 15, and his presence is sure to be felt! Yes, the dance floors will be open – come join us there! Just 10 bucks advance for general seating, 15 for preferred.
Legendary slide guitar and blues harp artist Studebaker John (Grimaldi) returns to Boise in support of his 18th album of all-original material, Eternity’s Descent. Boise Blues Society last sponsored Studebaker John at the Sapphire Room in the fall of 2014.
Studebaker John is among those who were fortunate to learn the Blues trade from the Chicago legends the rest of us read about. Grimaldi grew up in Chicago listening to Chicago Blues and still makes his living there doing what he does best, playing slide guitar and harmonica with his band of many years, The Hawks (named after the Studebaker Hawk he still owns today).
Not too many living Bluesmen can say they saw or played with or knew the legends of Chicago Blues. John mentions Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Big Walter, Little Walter, Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Albert King, Paul Butterfield, Mike Bloomfield and many others in casual conversation. He’s not being pretentious; he was merely in the right place at the right time in his life. (Blues Blast Magazine)
Hamilton Loomis and band rockin’ the house at 2014 Boise show at the former Jo’s Sunshine Lounge. He also rocked the crowd as the headliner of the 2014 “summer picnic”, now the Boise Blues Festival. Get your tickets to his upcoming May 13 return visit to Boise now at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2534424/
Extraordinary Blues guitarist-harmonica master Hamilton Loomis will be here on May 13 at the Sapphire Room.
This protege of the legendary Bo Diddley headlined the Boise Blues Festival in 2014, wowing the crowd. BBS also hosted him in 2 sold-out harmonica workshops here, and a stunning performance in his first Boise show in January 2014 at Jo’s Sunshine Lounge.
Loomis’ latest album release GIVE IT BACK is an altruistic message showcasing a “pay it forward” philosophy. Loomis states his goal to share the knowledge and information that was given to him as a young musician by Bo Diddley and others. Bridging the gap between generations of music-lovers and redefining blues-based American music for a contemporary audience, Loomis created his own path and built a loyal following by blending myriad influences, clever songwriting, and an expressive voice into a sound that defies description.
