Give the Blues for Christmas!

Are you on the email list for the Boise Blues Society?  Thank you for your interest, but do you want more?  We would like to add you, and your family, as a BBS member.

With your membership, you will get marketing emails–before the general public–of BBS events in order to have privileged access to seating, as well as a discount code for each event.

In addition to supporting Blues music in Boise with events, as well as monthly Jam Sessions at the Playhouse, a major emphasis involves supporting the development of young Blues players through three $500 scholarships each year, and educating local public school children in the history of the Blues and performing for them to demonstrate Blues music.  The BBS wants to develop an appreciation for the development of the Blues in America’s history and an appreciation for its music.

We at the Boise Blues Society are appreciative of you.   We thank you for your continued support at events, and hope you will become a member soon!  If you choose to join, click on “Join Us” at the following link, follow the prompts, and print your membership card. Buy a membership for a friend and print a card for their stocking!

Winning Hand! Tinsley Ellis Plays the Sapphire

Boise Blues Society and Riverside Hotel are excited to present Tinsley Ellis in the Sapphire Room on Saturday, February 24th. His brand new album “Winning Hand” on Alligator Records marks Tinsley’s return to the guitar-driven hard rock sound that made him a legend in the blues-rock world. This great new album drops in January, just before Tinsley hits the state in the Sapphire Room!

Ellis was among the first of the New Generation blues heroes that included Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Cray and many others. He says, “From BB King, I learned about performing with dynamics. From James Brown, I learned about putting on a seamless, exciting concert and from The Allmans, I learned about how to excite fans with extended instrumental jamming.

Now he says he’s ready to prove again that whenever he picks up a guitar, he’s playing with a Winning Hand!

Doors open at 6:30pm, Show at 7:30pm
