Our latest Blues In The Schools (BITS) Program: The students were instructed to listen to “Before You Accuse Me” by Eric Clapton and then write their own words to that song. We spent the five classes talking a little about Blues but mostly playing and singing the students compositions to them and talking in general about 12-bar blues songwriting. During the session of this photo. Jesse the school’s choir teacher sat in on acoustic guitar and their teacher Krista played bass. Fun for the kids, great lyrics from the kids, and fun for volunteer BBS players! Thanks to BBS volunteers today: Ken Harris, Joe Ryan, Becky Blake, Carmel Crock and Bob Kohnke for presenting the blues to five, 7th grade reading classes.
